Expected Learning Outcomes

The main aim of the course is to provide students with the basic communication skills of scientific English (i.e. specific terminology)  designed to develop their ability to use the English language in this specific area of competence and for the exchange of general information both with patients and in an international scientific context.

The course aims, therefore, to consolidate the basic linguistic skills of English, with particular attention to scientific glossaries. Students will learn the various strategies needed to write scientific papers, have access to international literature, have the opportunity to experiment working experiences as well as enroll in pre- or post-graduate mobility programs abroad.

Detailed Course Content

Integration of the four basic skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and use of the language in different situations on topics of general and scientific nature with an appropriate register and with argumentative and personal reworking skills. Ability to decode a scientific text.
