Filippo Drago is an Italian
pharmacologist, neurologist and
psychiatrist. He has held several positions
in international pharmacological societies, such
as President of the Federation of European
Pharmacological Societies (EPHAR) and member of
the International Union of Basic and Clinical
Pharmacology (IUPHAR) nominating
committee. In September 2015, Prof. Filippo
Drago was appointed chairman of the
Neuropsychopharmacology Section of the
IUPHAR. Prof. Filippo Drago is the
holder of several patents in the field of
Pharmacology and has has published more than 380
papers in peer-reviewed journals. Prof.
Filippo Drago is a Professor of Pharmacology and
Director of the Department of Biomedical and
Biotechnological Sciences at the University of
Catania, Italy. He obtained his Medical
Doctor Degree in 1978 at the University of
Catania, Italy and obtained a PhD in
Pharmacology in 1982 at the University of
Utrecht, in the Netherlands, working with
Prof. David de Wied.
Prof. Filippo Drago main research interests are
in the fields of Ocular Pharmacology and
Neuropsychopharmacology. He has been a visiting
scientist at Utrecht University, Szeged
University (Hungary), Weizmann Institute of
Science in Israel, the Department of Psychiatry
at the University of North Carolina -
Chapel Hill, USA.
In the last decade he has also worked in the
fields of Pharmacovigilance and
Pharmacoeconomics. He was a member of the
Scientific Board of the Italian Institutional
Drug Agency, Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco
(AIFA), from 2004 to 2009 and has been a
member of the Board for Pricing and
Reimbursement of AIFA since 2012. He was
the Director of the International PhD Program in
Neuropharmacology (2002-2013) and he is the
director of the Master Course in Drug Regulatory
Affairs at the University of Catania's Medical
School.

Alessandro
Serretti, since 2012, has been Associate
Professor of Psychiatry at University of
Bologna. His current research activity is
focused on clinical genetics and pharmacotherapy
of mood disorders and schizophrenia. Prof.
Serretti is author of about 1000 peer-reviewed
publications, and authored a book about
psychiatry. He is involved in a large network of
international collaborations, is PI in
several italian and international research
projects. He his coordinator of a large research
group, focused on the study of clinical genetics
of mood disorders, psychosis and
schizophrenia.
