Admission Requirements

Admission to the Degree Programme in Biotechnology is subject to a limited number of places. The relevant call for applications will be published on the dedicated University website.

Applicants may be admitted to the Degree Programme if they hold an upper secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable for admission.

Applicants are expected to have basic knowledge of chemistry, biology, mathematics and physics, as well as general knowledge and logical reasoning skills. The required level of knowledge in each subject corresponds to that normally acquired during upper secondary education.

Basic knowledge is therefore considered to have been acquired if the student has obtained an upper secondary school diploma, or an equivalent qualification, with a final grade of 85/100 or higher, or an equivalent grade.

Applicants who have obtained an upper secondary school diploma, or an equivalent qualification, with a final grade below 85/100, or the equivalent grade, will be assigned Additional Learning Requirements (OFA – Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi).

At the time of enrolment, students are required to provide a self-certification, in accordance with current legislation, confirming that the relevant basic subjects were included in the curriculum leading to their upper secondary school diploma or equivalent qualification.

If these subjects were not included in the student's previous curriculum, or if the required self-certification is not provided, Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) will be assigned regardless of the final grade obtained in the upper secondary school diploma, according to the procedures and deadlines established in the call for admission.
