The University of Catania's Bachelor's degree program in "Sport Science" is located in the landmark "Torre Biologica" in Catania. Housed within the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnology Sciences, alongside the Centro di Ricerca in Attività Motorie (Research Center on Motor Activities) (CRAM), the program aims to provide students with professional scientific knowledge across all aspects of sports and applied sciences.
The double-degree collaboration program in “Sport Science” with the School of Physical Education and Sport Science at Fujian Normal University marks UNICT's first long-term degree partnership in China. It follows a four-year academic system (3.5 years in Fu Zhou and 1 semester in Catania), with an annual intake of up to 80 students annually. The curriculum aligns closely with the corresponding major at the University of Catania, offering a high-quality learning experience conducive to fostering students' professional practice in all areas of human physical activity, with a particular emphasis on sports techniques, prevention, management, and education, with all lessons are conducted entirely in English and Italian by a team of full-time professors and sports specialists hired by UNICT.
Students can contact prof. Michelino Daniele Antonio Di Rosa, delegated by the Director of Biometec Department students ombudsman, to report complaints, suggestions and proposals aimed at protecting students' rights regarding the institutional activities of the Department. The Student Ombudsman organises its activities in close coordination with the Director of the Department and periodically reports to the Joint Committee of the reference structure on the activities carried out.
